# Check Token Support

> Check whether Crossmint Checkout supports a specific token before you integrate it

## Call the Supported Tokens API

Before you integrate a token into your checkout, verify support with the Supported Tokens API:

* **Endpoint**: `https://staging.crossmint.com/api/v1-alpha2/tokens/:tokenLocator` (staging) or `https://www.crossmint.com/api/v1-alpha2/tokens/:tokenLocator` (production)
* **Method**: `GET`
* **Authentication**: a server-side or client-side API key with the `orders.create` scope

The `tokenLocator` follows the format `network:tokenAddress` — for example `solana:6p6xgHyF7AeE6TZkSmFsko444wqoP15icUSqi2jfGiPN`. On staging, use the XMEME test token: `solana:7EivYFyNfgGj8xbUymR7J4LuxUHLKRzpLaERHLvi7Dgu`.

> Production memecoin tokens will not work in the staging environment.

## Read the Response

A successful response tells you whether the token can be sold and which payment features are enabled:

Check `available` and the `features` you need before showing the token or creating an order — transactions for unsupported tokens fail. For frequently accessed tokens, cache the result for a short period (for example 1 hour); the API is rate-limited to 50 requests per second.
